Responsibilities

The Infrastructure & Cloud Manager is a newly created role who is responsible for overseeing the firm's infrastructure operations to maintain high-quality operational excellence.

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the IT infrastructure team covering functional areas including but not limited to Microsoft E5, telephony, networking, storage, hardware and other compute infrastructure
  • Manage the design, installation and ongoing maintenance of the firm's on-premise and cloud based IT infrastructure
  • Support CIO to develop and implement strategies, standards, and best practices to optimize infrastructure performance
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and service providers, and ensure SLAs are met in delivering value to the firm
  • Manage budget of the firm's IT infrastructure and cloud services in alignment with the firm's business goals
  • Work with IT team members to develop, maintain and regularly test the firm's disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Collaborate with cross functional IT teams on projects to ensure seamless integration between infrastructure operations and broader technology initiatives
  • Mentor and coach team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, accountability and excellence
  • Stay up-to-date and assess emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the infrastructure landscape
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required to meet Firm goals and objectives

Qualifications / Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related disciplines
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in infrastructure operations, with at least 5 years at managerial level. Prior working experience in legal industry is a plus
  • Strong technical expertise in areas such as infrastructure operations and cloud technologies
  • Proven track record of successfully leading teams and delivering high quality infrastructure services.
  • Proven ability to establish and maintain strong long term relationships, communications and interact professionally with a diverse group of stakeholders at all levels
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and without supervision
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. ITIL, CISSP, CCNA) are advantageous
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to articulate complex technologies to non-technical people and help technical people understand the business requirements better
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese, able to communicate effectively and in a professional manner with all levels of the Firm and outside vendors
  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment and effectively support the demanding needs of the Firm
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines with shifting priorities
  • Must be a self-starter with a high level of initiative
  • Strong customer service skills, able to anticipate needs and exercise independent judgment
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • A strong appreciation of value achieved through astute financial management including budget planning and operational expense management
