Responsibilities

  • Assist with data-mapping for the record of processing activities (involves interviews with internal application managers to interrogate nature of data and processing)
  • Handle general data protection compliance activities
  • Help with data privacy reviews in routine internal projects/procurement
  • Assist with vendor management reviews and procedures and associated onboarding issues
  • Prepare data transfer agreements with clients and other parties
  • Involve in internal training initiatives
  • Assist with respect to any data subject access requests
  • Assist with general information security and  information governance matters
  • Conduct research on global data privacy issues
  • Perform ad hoc duties 

Qualifications / Person Specification

  • University graduate with degree in law or data protection background
  • Prior paralegal, compliance or administrative experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of data protection laws in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Singapore preferred. An interest in learning about other Asian data privacy laws and global ones such as GDPR,  
  • Good understanding of Information security matters 
  • Good command in both written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to undertake further training and take data protection examinations, if required. A CIPP/A qualification or other data protection qualifications is desirable.
