The Client Team Analyst role will be primarily responsible for coordinating and supporting the firm's Global Client Team Program, which is a strategic priority of the firm. Our Global Client Team program is comprises nearly 70 global teams, with the majority of our partners active in multiple teams. Our teams operate across practices and offices and work to ensure a consistent client-focused approach at the global and regional level. This role is to support the Asia-based teams. The role may also be required to support other strategic business development initiatives of the firm.

  • Coordinate and help develop client team business development plans and support and track plan implementation.
  • Provide market research and assist with competitive intelligence and business analysis in support of the firm’s client teams and other business development initiatives.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, pitches and presentations to clients, prospective clients, and referral sources. This includes drafting and assembling materials and documents.
  • Manage internal client team meetings at the direction of the Senior Client Team Manager and / or client team leaders:
    • Create, gather and distribute pre-meeting materials that may include accounting reports; activities and developments surveyed from team members; and media updates from daily clipping services, client websites etc;
    • Record action items and key discussions during client team meetings and provide team leaders with follow-up summaries to send to participants; and
    • Coordinate dates, meeting rooms and telephone and video conferencing needs.
  • Supports client team initiatives at the direction of the Senior Client Team Manager and / or client team leaders and with the support of the practice BD managers and the marketing team:
    • Edit practice descriptions, representative matter lists and legal biographies as needed for client team pitch initiatives;
    • Work other teams on the various activities a team may pursue to develop a client relationship: Continuing Professional Development (CPD) presentations / seminar / training; entertainment; any other types of meetings;
    • Review daily clipping services for key developments and provides brief summaries to team leaders for distribution to team members; and
    • Follow-up on action items and maintain client team activity updates.
  • Leverage the firm’s CRM database (InterAction) for business development purposes, such as tracking attendance, pitches and reporting.

Qualifications / Person Specification

  • An undergraduate degree preferably in a business related field and a secondary degree is preferred
  • 3 to 5 years in a business development, marketing and/or research-related position.
  • A work history in Asia, specifically Hong Kong, is preferred.
  • Solid command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite of offerings (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A knowledge of InterAction (or similar CRM systems) is preferred, but not essential.
  • Familiarity with research techniques and databases typically used for competitive intelligence (e.g., Manzama, Capital IQ, Mergermarket, LexisNexis, Lexology, etc).
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – must have a mature, professional and personable presentation and demeanor.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and problem-solving capabilities, a team-first and client-service orientation.
  • Energy and stamina in high pressure-to-deliver work environment.
