Responsibilities

  • Develop and support the implementation of key initiatives, including business plans, client satisfaction reviews, lawyer training and other initiatives to enhance business development efforts; engage in research, analysis and competitive intelligence-gathering for strategic planning, competitive firm positioning and business development activities; and provide direction and deployment support of various technology tools and related databases for assigned client teams.
  • Manage day-to-day responsibilities to ensure that assignments and projects are effectively managed and in alignment with the firm’s overall strategic efforts, and that service to internal and external clients is exceptional.
  • Develop and support annual business development and marketing business plans for assigned client teams focused on priorities outlined by firm leaders and/or assigned team leaders, including thought leadership platforms, communications and client outreach.
  • Collaborate with the leaders of assigned client teams to develop annual budgets to support initiatives outlined in business plan(s).
  • Manage and direct business development and marketing and client development programmes for assigned client teams.
  • Manage responses to RFPs, and pitch, presentation, and other opportunities via the development of written proposal and presentation materials for assigned client team(s), and liaises with other departments as needed.
  • Manage continuous communications and interaction with client team leadership, including responsibility for periodic meetings, reports, analysis and progress monitoring.
  • Conduct client secondment reviews and relay the information to client teams with strategic insights.
  • Support the collection and maintenance of CRM-based contact and other data for marketing planning and for mailing lists for assigned client teams.

Qualifications / Person Specification

  • An undergraduate degree preferably in a business related field and a secondary degree is preferred.
  • Ten or more years of demonstrated success in key account management or business development in professional services.
  • Work history in Asia especially Hong Kong is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of offerings.
  • Knowledge of InterAction (or similar CRM systems) is preferred but not essential.
  • Solid command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • Familiarity with professional services product offerings.
  • Self-starter with an ability to generate new ideas and secure buy-in from senior leadership.
  • Superior written and oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, a team-first orientation and alert to details.
  • Client focused, results driven.
  • Ability to identify and interpret client needs and turn them into potential opportunities.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and problem-solving capability.
